I'll dominate 'serious combatant' Paul - Anthony Joshua

Anthony Joshua and Jake Paul face-off

Anthony Joshua prepares to battle the American YouTuber in an eight round fight which will be shown live on Netflix.

British boxer Anthony Joshua stated he will "stamp all over" Jake Paul and "defeat" his opponent as the combatants confronted each other to build hype for the upcoming bout.

Former two time world heavyweight champion Anthony Joshua meets social media star turned fighter Paul - in what is, theoretically, a huge uneven pairing - at Miami's Kaseya Center on 19 December.

Fighter's Mindset

"I will break his face and break his body up. I aim to demonstrate I'm superior," the British boxer, 35, said.

"I'll stamp all over him. That's a fighter's mentality.

"I'm going to really want to injure him. That's my goal."

Civil Interaction

In spite of those words, a composed Joshua and social media star Paul - typically recognized for his dramatics - exchanged pleasantries and kept it respectful with each other.

Paul instead targeted ex Joshua's rival Francis Ngannou and called him "not serious" after the Cameroonian declined a fight offer.

Taking Aim at Tyson Fury

Anthony Joshua, in the meantime, criticized UK rival Fury - and rejected a £1m bet 'The Gypsy King' claims he will make on a Paul win.

"Jake Paul is superior to Fury - he's present here," Joshua said.

"I respect him for that."

Serious Fighter

In spite of declaring he will punish Paul, Anthony Joshua refused to talk badly about his rival's pugilistic talent.

"Jake Paul is a serious fighter," he said.

Paul's Background

Jake Paul - who initially became famous on the television network - has mostly boxed mixed martial artists or declining opponents since becoming pro.

He lost to British fighter Fury in 2023.

Financial Success

Nevertheless, the novice continues to be one of the sport's largest money-making draws, consistently making huge paydays.

Prediction and Confidence

The 28-year-old anticipated a stoppage in the fourth or fifth round and asserted he would prevent the much-anticipated Joshua–Fury fight, which is reportedly in the works for 2026.

"The next fight will be my match with Fury in the coming year," Paul said.

Size Difference

As the two fighters met for the usual stare-down, with their height and weight contrast clearly visible, it drove home just how improbable this whole event is - and how amazing it is that the fight is actually going ahead.
